WHIFF OF JOY CHALLENGE #22 'GREEN'

Apologies for such rubbish photos. I was in a rush (I know, not like me at all, lol!) to get this card in the post so that it would arrive on time for Mother's Day and so I did not check the images after I took them! So then I couldn't re-do them as the card was on it's way up North!

I really thought I would struggle with this challenge as I thought I didn't really have anything that would all co-ordinate in green. But it just goes to show what we have in our stash and don't remember!

The image is Whiff Of Joy - Willow with Sunhat, which I just love. It is so olde worlde (is that a design?!). I used distress inks to colour and a highlighter pen. I always seem to get carried away with the highlighter ! Note to self: stop using it soo much! The edges are inked with Versamagic - Sea Breeze. I used a cream hammered card for the main card and then matted with a dark blue. The DP papers are Basic Grey (boxer I think), using the green tones from this pack.

I used an EK success corner punch to make the edge on one of the mat backgrounds. Brads are from my stash and are also Basic Grey. The flowers are Prima, various shades of green and with green pearl drops for the middles (can't remember at the moment what you call the middle of a flower! oops!). The ribbon is a reel I bought for £2 and at the time could not imagine when I would use this colour, but could not resist a bargain!

The basket is also a Whiff of Joy stamp from the Spring Stamp Set (I think - memory not to good tonight!). The basket has eggs in but I wanted this to be a Mother's Day card and so I covered the eggs with 'Flower Soft' and made a few little yellow flower soft stems. It turned out better than I had imagined!

The sentiments both inside and out are computer generated. I also used my Cricut again to cut out the sentiments inside and the DP paper mats.

The inside was decorated to compliment the front using the same papers, flowers, swirl stamps and ribbon.

I made this card for my God-Mother for Mother's Day. She has always been very supportive of me and indeed when I was six weeks old and there were problems within my family she looked after me with her mother and I lived with them for most of my childhood. I can never repay the kindness they gave me or express how thankful I am. But I hope this card shows her just how much I care.

Hope you like it!

I also want to dedicate this post to Bev's little angel's Rosie and Basil, who recently she has had to make the heart breaking decision to ease their pain. Our pets are our family and devoted friends.
