2 Sketches 4 You - Kazan's sketch 19

I liked the simplicity of the sketch for this weeks challenge on 2 Sketches 4 You by Kazan. I pretty much followed the layout of the sketch and based my colour theme on some pink and blue papers from DCWV I had in my stash.

I incorporated a plain pink base card and matted with a plain blue. Then layered with the patterned paper scalloped at the edge using my Woodware trimmer. Layered over this is the printed vellum to give a softer feel to the card.

The stamped image is the beautiful Willow with hot chocolate from Whiff of Joy

The swirly ribbon was from sir stamp allot. I thought I was getting a bargain but hadn't read the detail... Instead of a whole reel for 60p, it was per metre. ! Trust me not to look at the fine print!

The large flowers are quite a funny addition and very eco-friendly! They are part of a Hawaiian necklace (lei) my daughter wore for a fancy dress party aged 6 (she is now 15!) and I just could not bear to throw them away knowing that one day they would come in useful! Ha Ha.

In the centre is a flower from my stash. The embellies are some that I recently purchased from China! I ordered quite a few different ones and again thought I was doing really well until I had to pay the carriage! £22 ! I really should read the fine print! They were worth it though and I have to thank my buddy Bev for the inspiration behind these. Thanks Bev-you're speshall!

I just could not think how to decorate the inside and really do not like it at all, so I may have to change it yet!

We have had such a hoot today in the snow. My neighbour was having a very one sided snowball fight with about half a dozen children from the close (Kati included), so I decided it would only be polite to go and join in and assist him! It ended up about even in numbers but the children were definitely the better shots! It seemed they had an attack plan and bombarded one person in waves! I had snow in my ear, eyes, down my neck, in my boots..... need I go on ! Simon the adult who started it was wearing glasses when he started, but you couldn't see these when he finished!
It was a lovely bonding session all round and made a positive spin on the lousy weather. It was so nice to chat to the neighbours that normally you just see each other coming and going and never stopping!

Hope you like it and thank you so much for bearing with my ramblings!

p.s. I have sorted out my cat problem on the desk! see next posting!
